Hickory Trucking Accident Injures Man

A truck driver was pinned between a truck and a guardrail at the Institution Food House in Hickory on Monday. The trucking accident sent the man to the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte for treatment. He was airlifted to the hospital.

The accident happened at about 5:50 a.m. in the parking lot of Institution Food House, on 12th Street Drive N.W. off U.S. 321. Early on weekday mornings, the lot is filled with more than 100 trucks set to deliver and pick up food orders, Grace said.

The truck driver is expected to recover from his injuries. No one else was injured in the accident. The police are investigating the accident to figure out the cause.
